Had a fantastic time staying here. I booked it for a wedding just a few miles away. I can't fault any part of the stay from start to finish, such a great cottage and fantastic hosts. I stayed in the room upstairs with an ensuite, had beautiful features, really clean and very comfortable bed.
Breakfast was 5*, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals & a lovely cooked breakfast with a selection of nutritious vegetables on the side.
Would definitely stay here again if in the area. Thank you!
Just returned from a fantastic weekend away at April Cottage and Lapland Lodge! Peter was an outstanding host who went above and beyond to help make my parent’s wedding anniversary weekend special and memorable. He was more than happy to help decorate with the decorations I had delivered to him. The rental of the BBQ with all utensils, cutlery, plates, sauces and seasonings provided was absolutely brilliant! And being able to just pop the washing up into a box to be done for us was a huge bonus! We rented the entire property for 3 nights for 7 people and 2 dogs. I cannot fault the accommodation in any way. The breakfast that was provided was amazing! Fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals and a cooked breakfast provided for us every morning with variety each time was the perfect start to each day. Peter and Joanna were fantastically attentive hosts and we would not hesitate to book here again or recommend it to others.
Peter and Joey were wonderful and friendly hosts with a beautiful B & B in a stunning area! Incredibly attentive and the best scrambled eggs we’ve ever eaten!
Peter was the best Airbnb host we’ve met! He was super flexible and accommodated a change in plans due to weather with ease and understanding. The spaces were ideal for our family - we had fun in the lodge sitting and chatting by candlelight. And the breakfast was out of this world with fresh veggies and fruit and a full spectacular English. I could not send a more glowing review. Thank you, Peter!
Peter’s house is a tiny idyllic dream, set in the prettiest garden you could ask for. Everything speaks of a meticulous eye for detail and beauty! The attic room we stayed in was perfectly set. Each piece of furniture comfy or useful and the en suite bathroom so clean and well organised.
Peter’s breakfasts are everything previous reviews have raved about and the way he sets the table is perfect! Flowers and plentiful food laid out to feast every morning. Couldn’t have asked for a kinder host, thanks Peter!
We stayed at the lodge for one night with our dog after spending a week near Weymouth but wished we'd been here all week.
The lodge is super cozy and in beautiful surroundings. Peter is friendly and gave us all the information we needed during our stay. Highlights were the delicious breakfast we were served in the garden and the fairy lights and candles added a little a magic. Really couldn't fault it.

Peter has got to be the best host I’ve ever experienced. So welcoming, and hospitable. It felt like being at a home away from home. I went with 2 children and they found it so magical and exciting. I will absolutely go there again and recommend it to anyone who is going there.
Fantastic spot, within easy reach of the coast and beaches.
Joanna and Peter were great hosts, welcoming us on arrival to their lovely April cottage. They advised us on where was good to eat out and there was plenty more information in the welcome pack. The cottage is nice and quiet with wonderful views. In addition we were served a wonderful full English breakfast on the lawn in the morning. Something that most places listed on Airbnb forget what the second 'b' stands for! Our only regret is that we did not stay longer with Joanna & Peter. I can definitely say that April cottage is one of the best BnB's I have stayed at in many years of travel.
