Testimonials 2020

“We stayed in upstairs double bedroom with en suite and our sons in twin bedroom with private bathroom on ground floor. The whole place was spotlessly cleaned and very nicely decorated with artifacts from Peter and Joanna's travels. They are a delightful couple and gracious hosts. We felt at home throughout our stay. The fruit platter at breakfast was the highlight!”

“My partner and I have just spent a lovely short break at April Cottage. Despite the rather awful weather, we had a great time, largely thanks to the comfort provided in the excellent en suite room at the top of April Cottage and the warm and professional hospitality provided by Peter and Joey, the owners. They anticipate every need from the delicious, beautifully presented breakfast to the welcome tray, electric blanket and lovely bedding. We tried several of the pubs they recommended for dinner and all were so good. Thank you both so much for making our stay so very enjoyable! We hope to be back. A beautiful, interesting area too - lots to do.”

"We had a fantastic stay at Peter’s. The cottage is beautiful, the rooms were pristine clean and had very nice touches (electric blankets, tea and coffee). The breakfast in the morning was delicious (better than in a restaurant!). Peter was very accommodating, very quick to respond and extremely helpful. I highly recommend!"

"A great stay at April Lodge. Peter and Joey are welcoming hosts and were on hand if we had any queries. Our rooms were cosy, spotless and were kindly refreshed every day. The garden is very pretty and where we enjoyed Peter's superb breakfasts. In terms of location, it is fab if you want to explore the area: 5 mins to Corfe Castle, 12 mins to Studland, and 30 to Durdle Door."

"Fabulous breakfast and wonderful hosts! The full English breakfast plus fresh local fruit were served every morning in the breath-taking garden by Peter. We stayed in the double bedroom (with en suite) upstairs and our sons stayed in the twin bedroom (with private bathroom) on ground floor. The rooms were meticulously cleaned and very nicely decorated with artifacts from Peter and Joanna's travels around the world. Our hosts were warm and welcoming and helped us with directions and tips for local visits. The whole place is wonderful; we would definitely stay here next time we come to Dorset."

"Our family stayed in all 3 available rooms to include the Lodge and as we had 2 young children (including a 1 yr. old) that needed to go to bed early having the lodge gave us a place to be during the evening to enjoy sitting out or in sharing drinks and board games. A truly unique property, fabulous location with superb hosts where nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was fabulous, locally sourced and own grown produce. Could not fault a thing. Cannot recommend enough and would certainly stay again."

" The lodge was simply perfect, very cosy and comfortable. Set in a beautiful location. Peter’s hospitality is 5 stars. The cheese raclette evening was amazing, also the breakfast. The location is perfect for some great coastal path walks, both Win spitt and Dancing Ledge are worth a visit. Scenery is beautiful."

"What a delightful place to stay! From the initial booking to arrival, everything was smooth, and questions were answered quickly. The lodge itself is very quaint and comfortable. The gardens are beautiful and the breakfast the next morning was the best we have had in any of our Airbnb stays! Thank you for being a wonderful host Peter!"

"You cannot fail to enjoy a night or two in this beautifully appointed lodge. Best breakfast ever and superb host. Enjoy."

"Reviews are perfectly accurate. Highly recommended with a legendary breakfast. Will visit again. Goof preparations for COVID-19 and felt very safe."
